Haney Summer Music Camp

Ed Dumas,
B.Ed, M.A.Ed.

After graduating from the
University of Victoria, Ed's
teaching skills and love of music
have made him a familiar face to
thousands of young music
students and adult musicians
around British Columbia.

Based in Maple Ridge, Ed has
been a secondary school music
teacher and band conductor for
more than 25 years. After
recently leaving Thomas Haney
Secondary School, Ed now
teaches beginning band at
numerous schools across Maple
Ridge school district.

Ed currently conducts the
Maple Ridge Concert Band and
is past conductor of several
adult groups including the
Golden Ears Jazz Band, the
Whalley Legion Band, and the
Abbotsford Concert Band. He
has been a guest conductor and
trumpet coach at music camps,
retreats and concerts around the
province.

Recently Ed has graduated from
the University of Phoenix with a
Masters of Arts in Education
degree. His M.A.Ed. action
research project focused on the
uses of small group combos to
teach sight-reading skills to
young musicians.

Most recently, Ed Dumas has
been voted “Maple Ridge’s
Favorite Music Teacher” in
2008, 2009, and again in 2010.

Quick Start and Junior Classes

Due to a large demand for classes, the
Haney Summer Music Camp will offer one
Quick Start Class and one Junior Band Class
at Abby Collegiate Secondary School
in Abbotsford! See the printable version

Jazz Band Classes
Return to The ACT Maple Ridge!

The popular jazz band classes will
return to The ACT Maple Ridge
for the summer of 2011.
These classes will take the form of
one Junior Jazz Band class, and one
Senior Jazz Band Class. See the
